New French government named hours before budget deadline
Most positions in Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu’s new cabinet remain unchanged, and opponents who have been demanding political change vow to challenge the new government with parliamentary confidence motions. Lecornu and his new team have until Tuesday to present a draft 2026 budget – an issue that has toppled his two predecessors.
