142 personnes détenues –
Cent quarante-deux personnes, qui seraient des ressortissants haïtiens, ont été arrêtées lors d’une opération de sécurité maritime entreprise par la branche maritime de la police royale des îles Turques et Caïques.
Les personnes détenues comprennent; 108 hommes, 32 femmes et deux mineurs.
Les migrants illégaux ont été arrêtés hier soir (7 novembre) à 21h20.




Les rapports préliminaires indiquent qu’un opérateur radar du centre d’opérations maritimes de la RTCIPF a identifié le navire et a alerté la salle de contrôle de la police l’informant de la présence d’un navire suspect dans les eaux TCI.
La branche maritime de la RTCIPF a intercepté le sloop et les personnes à bord ont été remises aux agents de l’immigration à South Dock.
Il est conseillé au public d’informer le poste de police le plus proche ou de contacter Échec au crime et de donner toute information sur une activité illégale de manière anonyme.

Migrant Sloop Intercepted – 142 Persons Detained
One hundred and forty-two persons, believed to be Haitian nationals, have been detained during a maritime security operation undertaken by the Marine Branch of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force.
Those detained include; 108 males, 32 females and two minors.
The illegal migrants were held yesterday (7th November) evening at 9.20pm.
Preliminary reports state that a radar operator at the RTCIPF Maritime Operations Centre identified the vessel and alerted the Police Control Room informing them of the presence of a suspicious vessel in TCI waters.
The RTCIPF Marine Branch intercepted the sloop and those persons on board were handed over to Immigration Enforcement Officers at South Dock.
The public is being advised to notify the closest police station or to contact Crime Stoppers and give any information illegal activity anonymously.
